  1. I think every girl ought to read this book…any generation…some girls will relate, some marvel at the naivete, some long for the simpler times. It’s a classic and I love it

    1. It’s been so long since I’ve read this book I should go back and see if it really does stand up. I just remember loving it so much when I did read it back in the day. Nobody and I do mean nobody was addressing these issues back then. Nowadays they’re in every middle grade book. Back then, it broke so many taboos. It really was a revelation.

      1. True. As to standing up…I think it would if read at a young enough age. Then again, we now live in the land of 6 year old with cell phones…so who knows.
